Alpha 6" Pneumatic Stone Cutter - PSC-150
Introducing a new industrial quality pneumatic stone cutter, called the PSC-150, which is equipped with a 2 hp motor, with a speed governor in the motor that regulates the air consumption according to the torque needed for the application. This regulation includes producing enough torque to cut 1-1/4" (3cm) stone slabs in one pass. In addition, Alpha recognized the need for an industrial quality portable stone cutter that is capable of miter cutting of 1-1/4" (3cm) materials with ease, so that any stone fabricator can use it when miter cuts are required, without time-consuming setup.
Features
- Since it is a pneumatic-powered motor, you can save the repair and maintenance costs of electric stone cutters when sink-hole cutting and groove-cutting for rodding applications
- Alpha offers a carriage that retrofits on the Alpha Guide Rail System to support the application of making precise miter cuts for the perfect lamination
- The PSC-150 offers kink-free water and air hoses to improve the maneuverability of the stone cutter
- The flexibility of the hoses helps reduce operator fatigue and improves the operation
- To ensure an extended maintenance interval, we also recommend using the manifold system that comes with a regulator and filter to catch the debris and moisture delivered by compressed air
- The Alpha PSC-150 comes with an Eclipse II 6" blade, which is the recommended turbo blade for granite and engineered stone
- It can utilize a variety of consumables including the Alpha Katana 6" for porcelain panels and slabs, Hot-Rod 4" for 1/4" steel rods and 1/8" fiber glass rods
- For marble applications, a Libero 5" blade is recommended since most marble slabs are 3/4" (2cm) thick or less
What our Experts Think
- Industrial-grade stone cutting power: The Alpha PSC-150 is a 6-inch pneumatic stone cutter designed for professional fabrication work on granite, marble, engineered stone, and porcelain
- High-performance pneumatic motor: 2 HP air-driven system with speed governor delivers consistent torque and up to 8,500 RPM for controlled cutting performance
- Precision miter cutting capability: Engineered to cut up to 1-1/4" (3 cm) stone in a single pass, including accurate 45° miter cuts for countertops and laminations
- Wet or dry operation: Can be used with water for dust control or dry with proper extraction systems for jobsite flexibility
- Fabricator-focused ergonomics: Kink-free air and water hoses reduce fatigue and improve maneuverability during long cutting sessions
- Multi-application tool: Suitable for sink cutouts, groove cutting, edge shaping, and rodding applications beyond straight cuts
- Guide rail compatibility: Can integrate with Alpha rail systems for improved straight-line and precision miter work
Q&A
Q: What is the Alpha PSC-150 Pneumatic Stone Cutter?
A: It is a professional 6-inch (150 mm) air-powered stone cutter designed for heavy-duty fabrication work, including straight cuts, curves, and precision miter cuts on stone slabs.
Q: What makes the PSC-150 different from an electric stone cutter?
A: It uses a 2 HP pneumatic motor instead of electricity, reducing maintenance needs while delivering consistent high torque for cutting dense materials like granite and engineered stone.
Q: What materials can it cut?
A: It is built for granite, marble, engineered stone, and similar hard surfaces used in countertop fabrication and stone workshops.
Q: Can it perform miter cuts?
A: Yes, it is specifically designed for fast, accurate 1-1/4" (3 cm) miter cuts, commonly used in countertop lamination and waterfall edge fabrication.
Q: Is it suitable for wet and dry cutting?
A: Yes, the PSC-150 can be used both wet and dry depending on the job requirements and dust control setup.
Q: What blade size does it use?
A: It uses a 6-inch (150 mm) diamond blade system, optimized for precision stone cutting applications.
Q: What is included in the system?
A: It typically includes the cutter unit, hoses, wrench set, side handle, lubricant oil, and a 6-inch diamond blade for immediate use.
Q: Is it for jobsite or workshop use?
A: It is designed for both, but performs best in professional fabrication shops with adequate compressed air supply.
Maintenance Tips
- Always flush and oil the air motor after use to prevent internal rust
- Keep water + air lines clean and kink-free for consistent pressure
- Clean dust/slurry from blade guard and carriage after every cut
- Use only recommended diamond blades (like Eclipse II) for best performance
- Store dry to avoid corrosion in pneumatic components
